My favorite picture to date...

Love this little girl so much! 7 weeks old today! She is sleeping through the night regularly now and can hold her head up! Things we are working on for the next few weeks: rolling over, grabbing things, and transitioning to her crib upstairs!

Ellie's Dedication

On Sunday February 12th we had Ellie's Dedication at church.  We are members at Stonebriar Community Church.  Jeff and I first went to a class, Foundations for Marriage, during our engagement and began attending regularly.  We immediatly fell in love and felt right at home listeing to our Pastor Chuck Swindoll speak.  So before we even had little Ellie we were sure to get her signed up to be dedicated at our church as soon as we could.

It was a beautiful ceremony and as expected Ellie was perfect.  Pastor Dave even asked if we drugged our child because she is always so well behaved.  I'm proud to say that during our class before the dedication she was the only baby to not cry or fuss during the whole course (proud mama)!

During Ellie's Child Dedication we were asked a series of questions to each we responded "I Do" similar to our marriage vows.  The questions detailed our commitment and vow to God to raise Ellie according to His word and to know, love, and serve the Lord.  Jeff and I know our responsibility and while we know there will be challenges and tests along the way, we feel confident that we can do it.

Afterwards we had the family over to our house for some breakfast.  One thing's for sure, that girl has a whole lot of people that love her!  We are so lucky to have such a loving and supportive family!  My dad even was able to get a picture of the whole crew (below).

Here are some pictures from her dedication.  Thanks to Glenda Meyers for the precious outfit and headband on such an important day.

A day in the life of Ellie Rose

We had our 1 month check up on Monday (2/6) and got another healthy report card.  Ellie weighed 10 lbs 6 oz (75 percentile) and was 23.5 inches (97 percentile).  She continues to just get longer and longer and even more beautiful each day!  She's already wearing some 3-6 month stuff because she's so long! Here's a look at a typical day in the life of Ellie Rose Lam.

We wake up and have our first diaper change (1 of 1 million it feels like) and pick out her outfit (and bow of course) for the day!

We enjoy some cuddle time with mommy and Mr. Bojangles.

Ellie gets to enjoy some time in the nap nanny, which normally leads to a brief morning nap.  During that brief morning nap, mommy occasionally can fit in a shower, but rarely can make it all the way to "fully ready".

Then we are back to wide awake and do some sort of activity.  Ellie is getting to be such a big girl!  She can already hold her head up for a little bit in the Bumbo!  We also love tummy time and Baby Mozart and just being rocked/bounced by mommy in the nearest apparatus.

All that activity makes Ellie tired again and we get a little afternoon nap.  We are back to napping in the pack n play downstairs.  Ellie has let us know she isn't quite ready for the transition upstairs yet.

And when daddy gets home, we get a bath!  Ellie actually loves to get a bath.  Mommy and daddy don't "love" giving them quite as much.  Daddy is the bath master....mommy finally just completed the first one last night .

Happy 1 Month Birthday!

Can't believe my little baby is already one month old!  She's still sleeping in our room (mostly due to lazy parents) but is taking naps in her big girl bed upstairs!  She also loves tummy time and can consistently move her head side to side.  We are starting to get a sneak peak at the smiles that will come next month and the strength she has to hold her neck up.  Here are some pictures on her 1 month Birthday!
